Delhi

This was a relatively uneventful day. We woke up and planned to check out and head to Rahul Bhasin’s place. He was supposed to be back from his trip about 10 AM and said he was heading out on another trip the next morning. We were going to wait until we heard from him before we took a cab to Safdarjung Enclave. Meanwhile, we were up by 7 AM because we had planned to go to Rohini’s place for a breakfast of dosas. Jenny was leaving that morning and was going to have breakfast with us before taking a cab to the airport. We went to Rohini’s place for a great breakfast of dosas. I loved the rava dosas the most. And, of course, more mangoes as we waited to hear from Rahul that he was back home. We waited. And waited. Not hearing anything, we headed back to the hotel for a brief nap. I sent him some Whatsapp messages and finally heard that he was getting back only in the evening, but that Usha (their long time maid) would be at the home expecting us. We told Ramesh and he suggested we head back to Rohini’s place for lunch and we take a cab to Rahul’s after lunch.

We got to Rahul’s place in the evening and found that they were only expected by about 10 PM. We relaxed in a nice air-conditioned room for a bit and had the dinner that Usha made for us (some spicy aloo-gobi, karela, dhal, and rotis). Rahul and family finally arrived in a whirlwind at about 10 PM. Rahul immediately disappeared to shower and pack for his business trip for which he had to leave at about 11 PM. I barely saw him and only managed a quick hello-goodbye.

We went to bed around 11:30 PM with the alarm set for 5 AM since the car to take us to Agra was scheduled to pick us up at 6 AM.
